The basic structure and working principle of a dehumidifier



The core part of a rotary desiccant dehumidifier is a honeycomb-shaped wheel, which is composed of a special ceramic fiber carrier and active silica; the  wheel is divided into two areas by a special seal: the processing zone and the regeneration zone.

When humid air needs to be dried, it passes through the processing area of the rotor, where its water vapor is adsorbed by the activated silica on the rotor, and dry air is blown into the space that requires treatment by the fan. At the same time, the slowly rotating rotor, loaded with saturated water vapor, enters the regeneration area; reverse blowing in of hot air from the regeneration area causes the water on the rotor to be desorbed and expelled outdoors, thereby restoring the moisture absorption capacity of the rotor and completing the regeneration process.

The rotor continues to turn, and the cycle of humidification and regeneration repeats, ensuring the continuous and stable operation of the dehumidifier.
